JOB FILLED - Director of Sales and Marketing

Job Description: 
Objective: 
To actively participate in the execution of sales strategy with deep knowledge of product lines and market dynamics. To monitor and sell current inventory while also following directive for future promotional planning. Taking initiative and engaging our customers in dialogue to reach win-win scenarios. The core of this position is customer service and relationship management. The Director of Sales and Marketing is expected to maintain high levels of communication, actively work to solve problems, and strive to exceed customer expectations.
 
Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Meets with current customers to drive sales, increase account revenue, increase profitability
  • Build and maintain long-lasting, strong relationships with customers while partnering with them to better understand their business objectives and needs 
  • Work directly with sales and operations team members to craft sales targets and goals
  • Meet or exceed company sales growth and margin objectives
  • Lead sales and operations team members to identify account specific new product opportunities
  • Represent customer feedback and present sales reports to management
  • Lead the development of strategic produce procurement and category management initiatives to ensure that an adequate supply of produce is secured
  • Take the lead in monitoring, qualifying, and reporting on market conditions, competitor’s products, and pricing
  • Work hand and hand with marketing team to develop retailer specific marketing strategies   
  • Capability to build and expand our sales team 
  • Assume additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field 
  • Product knowledge of lettuce, herbs, and tomatoes
  • Flexibility to travel (approximately 25%) 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with strong computer skills
  • 4 or more years’ experience in sales or sales management (fresh produce industry preferred)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Team player and team builder
  • Highly self-motivated
  • Experienced negotiator 
  • Must reside on the East Coast (EST)
