We are seeking a Produce Sales and Operations Manager to support our sales process and daily operations. The Produce Sales and Operations Manager will be responsible for handling produce sales for assigned accounts, anticipating customer needs, coordinating with team members to keep aware of current and anticipated field conditions and product availability across multiple growing locations, entering customer orders and expanding our customer base. 
 
Job Description:
  • Focus on an established customer base, and very focused on operational support.
  • Reporting directly to the Owner/Founder, you will work closely with our Director of Grower Relations & Sales (Cincinnati-based) and Logistics Coordinator. 
  • Communicates directly with customers and growers via phone, email, and text to achieve success in a consistently dynamic environment. 
  • Equal focus on sales and operations, this important position touches every corner of the business. 
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • Meet or exceed established sales targets with assigned accounts.
  • Provide sales strategies and creative marketing solutions for assigned accounts.
  • Develop new accounts; work with Founder & Director to identify, qualify, and make solicitations.
  • Ensure customers receive timely and accurate information on product availability, quality, and price.
  • Solicit and process customer orders with professional communication and timeliness.
  • Visit customers, as required, to enhance relationships and resolve customer issues.
  • Respond promptly to customers in the event of problems, complaints, and requests for resolution.
  • Work cooperatively with team members including accounting, sales & logistics, growers, shed managers, transportation partners, customer receivers, and customer buyers.
  • Submit compliance documents to customers, as required.
  • Stay current on industry pricing, supply, and quality standards.
  • Keep team members informed of issues that impact the company, our growers, and our customers.
  • Consistently exceed the expectations of our customers, growers, and transportation partners.
  • Manage inevitable/infrequent business communications outside of normal work hours as needed.
  • Some travel required.
Experience:
  • Four years in Produce Sales and Distribution preferred
  • Sales and Customer Service experience required
  • Operations experience required
  • Farming/Produce Production experience a plus
  • Retail, wholesale foodservice produce purchasing systems and practices
  • PACA Law and procedures (inspections, process)
  • Quality Assurance standards on produce quality, size, and grade (retail spec)
  • Product Temperature requirements (crop-specific)
  • Experience with FAMOUS ERP or similar system a plus
  • Refrigerated trucking industry experience a plus
Cincinnati, OH Sales Office:  For home-based candidate, onsite training/orientation in Cincinnati is required.
