Job Description: 

We are an importer/distributor of Tropical Produce headquartered in Massachusetts.  We are seeking an experienced Category Sales Manager - Tropicals.

Compensation/Salary: 
DOE
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Develop new accounts through calls and emails and handle all aspects of the sale, including but not limited to processing invoices and arranging for transportation.
  • Follow up with accounts to ensure that orders are completed to clients’ and our satisfaction. If there are issues, ensure that complaints and problems are recorded and followed up according to P.A.C.A. regulations. 
  • Maintain daily communication with procurement and warehouses and be knowledgeable about our products and forecast.
Ideal Candidate: 
  • Has a proven track record of high volume sales in the produce industry.
  • Preferably has dealt with retail and food service buyers directly.
  • Has excellent follow-up, is persistent, and able to close most of the initiated deals.
  • Is creative in coming up with solutions and doesn’t give up easily.
  • Has effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Is energetic and positively ambitious to grow within our company.
  • Most importantly, has the initiative to develop their own action plan and stay focused on the goal.
Qualifications: 
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience in high volume sales of produce items, tropical fruits preferred.
  • Be computer literate (Microsoft Office) and have the capacity to learn new programs and tasks quickly.
  • Be willing to take initiative and be capable to multi-task, aside from being a self-motivated, goal-oriented, proactive, and positive person.
  • A bilingual (English and Spanish) candidate is preferred.
