Job Description: 

Over the past 13 years Greg Willems has traveled the globe searching for the right varieties that could perform in his micro-climate in Kingsburg, CA. After years of research and testing, he is confident that the berries he produces are the best berry-genetics that are offered on the market. Farm to Table Berries efforts are concentrated on giving the consumer the best and sweetest eating experience, which results in repeat business.

We are now looking to expand our sales staff with an experienced Produce Salesperson/Buyer to join our team in Reedley, CA. We’re looking for an experienced, honest and passionate professional that can work with our Sales Director to strengthen the relationship with existing customers and develop new business for our products.

Requirements: 
  • Possess a BA/BS degree or equivalent training.
  • 1-3 years combined Produce Sales/Buying Experience.
  • Experience working with Terminal Produce Markets is preferred.
  • Understanding of price and impact on profitability in wholesale accounts is critical.
  • Advanced PC skills including Technology-based platforms: Microsoft Office Suite software.
  • Ability to work collaboratively on a cross-functional team and company-wide initiatives.
  • Ability to comprehend product information data flow (item, vendor, cost, price).
  • Ability to solve problems within and across multiple departments.
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Develops new business for company on all product categories.
  • Provides exceptional customer service.
  • Writes, tracks and reviews sales orders and monitors inventory levels.
  • Monitors marketplace information on pricing, product quality, demand, supply, delivery schedules, etc. and shares with category managers and team.
  • Promptly resolves customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management.
  • Interfaces with our transportation vendors to arrange for delivery of our product to customers.
  • Shares the daily duties, alongside the rest of the team, that support the sales process – answering phones, sending emails, modifying and emailing our price list, running and distributing weekly sales reports.
  • Works with senior management and administrative staff on additional projects as needed.
  • Evaluate and select suppliers.
  • Maintain supplier relationships.
  • Responsible for purchase order creation.
  • Assists associate buyers with daily tasks.
  • Responsible for ad-hoc reporting.
  • Liaisons with vendors about all product issues.
  • Responsible for reporting on vendor and inventory issues to department management.
  • Works with accounting to resolve invoice discrepancies.
