Job Description: 

We are seeking a Director of Product Marketing to join our team in Salinas, California. 

The Director of Product Marketing will oversee our core vegetable product range and corresponding trade promotion and pricing plans on all retail branded products.

Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university (MBA a plus)
  • Minimum 5 to 6 years of related Produce or CPG Marketing experience
  • Category management experience
  • Trade promotions and story development
  • Extensive knowledge of major retailers in the Grocery/Produce class of trade
  • Strong P & L skills and fiscal awareness
  • Budget management skills and proficiencies
  • Proven analytical skills to identify and forecast trends and challenges
  • Excellent vendor management skills
  • Ability to direct projects and work within cross-functional teams
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively
  • Ability to interact with and adapt to different personalities and work styles
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task under pressure and time constraints
  • Personal work ethic, commitment to task, and drive for success.
  • Ability to track down data from internal sources in a professional but persistent manner
  • Strong computer skills, including demonstrated proficiencies in all Microsoft Applications including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Ability and willingness to travel 
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Define assigned product/brand strategies and road maps
  • Research and determine product weaknesses and areas to be modified or enhanced
  • Insure assigned products/brands maintain and improve margin contribution
  • Plan strategies and execute marketing activities to establish and maintain product brand presence in the market
  • Brief and train sales personnel on key products and brand features and benefits
  • Coordinate with Director of Corporate Marketing on products/brands advertising and media planning
  • Work closely with internal cross-functional teams to drive project assignments
  • Identify consumer and customer trends on assigned products/brands
  • Implement annual trade promotion calendar via Proforma process and track compliance
  • Support trade spends analysis using internal data, syndicated data, and market trends
  • Provide category management and analytical support to internal stakeholders and the Region Sales Managers using external market research data and internal sales analysis reports
  • Assist in creating the corporate category management platform
  • Provide return on investment analysis for financial investments (slotting, ad fees, customer specific couponing, etc.) made in the field, both pre and post execution
