Job Description: 

Index Fresh is a leading packer, shipper, and importer of Avocados.  We are searching for a dynamic Avocado Sales Manager who is a star performer. The ideal candidate will leverage their well-established network to identify, qualify, develop, and manage new customers across the U.S. 
 
This is a position for an experienced Sales Manager who has a proven success in business development and customer management skills. Requirements: 
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • Integrity and Professionalism.
  • Reliability and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to travel frequently (25-35%).
  • 5-years fresh produce sales.
  • Established track record for new customer development.
  • Ability to exercise professional judgment and decision making.
  • Ability to effectively influence others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly personable with the ability to quickly build relationships.
  • Very organized and efficient with time management.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and other business technologies.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Responsible for sales, service retention and growth of assigned customers, and new customers brought on through business development effort.
  • Manages customer price quotes and volume allocations within the outlined parameters, including daily market quotes, short term advance pricing, and contract pricing. 
  • Consistently participates in monitoring aging product inventory and proactively engaged in selling aging and distressed product from all DC locations.
  • Coordinates sales efforts with management, marketing, accounting operations and logistics to ensure optimal customer service and support.
  • Plans for customer needs.  Develops sales forecasts.
  • Identify and strategically pursue opportunities based on industry trends.
  • Manages assigned customers credit limits and assists the Accounts Receivables team regarding collection of payment from customers.
  • Plan and execute recurring travel schedule for visiting key customers to conduct business reviews, to sell, and to strengthen relationships. Reports on customer visits, including action items and follow up items.
  • Attend industry and customer specific trade shows, conferences, and meeting with prospective and existing customers.
  • Conducts quarterly business reviews.
  • Works with a high level of integrity and promotes a positive company image.
