JOB FILLED - Replenishment Buyer

Job Description: 

The Buyer is responsible for the oversight of all purchase orders and inventory management for Sun Basket’s Mid-West Facility. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: partnering with other departments in Operations to ensure all ingredients are available per recipe specifications as well as maintain effective communication with Operations regarding inventory status and any product quality issues.

Requirements: 
  • 7+ years’ experience in procurement, material sourcing or similar roles within the food or manufacturing industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementation of effective plans and schedules, integration of sourcing solutions with forecasting systems.
  • Outstanding and unique communication, written and oral, with various levels of the organization.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, research and negotiation skills.
  • Strong systems experience and working knowledge of procurement software solutions.
  • Ability to work and build relationships with all levels of the organizations, vendors and suppliers.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, team environment and cross-functionally.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects, multi-task, meet deadlines and work in a continuous change environment.
  • Must be able to work on weekends and change work schedule as needed.
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Manage all activities related to purchasing and inventory control for Sun Basket’s Mid-West Facility to ensure operations run smoothly.
  • Partner with vendors, suppliers and others as needed to minimize purchasing overages and waste through effective forecasting models and yields as well as process damaged and spoiled product returns.
  • Responsible for preventing and reducing overstock conditions as well as obsolete inventory.
  • Develop and implement contingency plans for shortages and manage all short supplies to ensure all supplies are available in the facility.
  • Work cross-functionally with Head of Prep, General Manager and Ops. Manager to ensure proper yield on product is available prior to and during prep work.
  • Maintain an effective relationship with other regional buyers, Quality Assurance, Food Safety and other reams to ensure the highest quality of products is being met as well as vendor compliance is being maintained.
  • Partner with Accounting & Finance to reconcile, review and approve all invoices related to purchasing and ensure all billing and credits are being processed accordingly.
  • Provide back up support to other regional buyers in other facilities as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Education: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or related field required.
