As the Import Manager for Robinson Fresh, you will be responsible for developing, growing and implementing our global sourcing import strategy throughout Chile, Mexico, South Africa, Australia and Argentina. You will build and manage relationships, develop new business, own sales pipelines, provide pricing and oversee quality. In this highly collaborative, entrepreneurial and innovative position, you will partner with a variety of Robinson Fresh leaders and colleagues and externally with customers and growers around the world. The ideal candidate is able to build out a comprehensive high-level strategy while also driving strong results through effective execution.
The preferred location for this position is the Voorhees, NJ office, but qualified candidates in the Los Angeles, CA area will also be considered.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience
- Minimum of 5 years of international produce sales experience (buying and selling)
- Professional experience and knowledge of Chile market required
- Professional experience and knowledge of Mexico, South Africa, Australia and/or Argentina markets strongly preferred.
- Established success in building and executing international import strategies
- Strong relationship building skills with a wide variety of internal and external customers around the world
- Proven success creating customized, innovative and international solutions
- Strong orientation toward growth, sales relationship building, negotiation, and financial acumen
- Ability to work independently across multiple time zones and drive growth through collaboration with virtual teams
- Innovative and creative thinking skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to travel internationally and nationally up to 50%

- Develops regional programs, projects and partnerships that to grow our global sourcing import strategies with Chile, Mexico, South Africa, Australia and Argentina.
- Actively participate and contribute to leadership discussions from a market driven and internal perspective.
- Manages import product categories for current and new clients by partnering with internal international teams.
- Participates in face-to-face local on-site meetings to help identify new opportunities for partnership and account penetration.
- Manages existing relationships with growers and lead processes to develop new grower partnerships for the countries of focus.
- Oversees and executes on sales pipelines and monitor goals of sales teams.
- Sets prices, promotion levels, new product plans, account development needs and sales pipelines.
- Assist in the project management and coordination of new customer implementations through designing processes and facilitating cross-functional partnerships.
- Collaborates with Category Manager and other Robinson Fresh leaders on new growth opportunities.
- Oversees the day to day operations of the order processing team in order to ensure overall customer satisfaction.
- Stays current on competitive and market information for the countries of focus.
