Job Description:
The Dairy Manager oversees the operations of the dairy section of the grocery department. This includes product management and staff supervision. The Dairy manager reports to the Grocery Manager. The Dairy Manager has no direct reports.

Requirements:
- At least 2 years experience in a retail grocery environment.
- At least 1 year managerial experience.
- Familiarity with natural foods and alternative diets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- An ability to read, interpret, and understand financial statements.
- Experience executing goals, effectively creating change, and increasing efficiency.
- The ability to exercise considerable discretion and judgment consistent with the essential functions of the job.
- A demonstrated understanding of the principles and practices of management and supervision.
- Ability to lift 30 pounds safely.
Responsibilities & Duties:
This position will perform functions in retail, warehouse, and office environments. There will be extensive time spent in a walk-in cooler.
Customer Service
- Role model excellent customer service for staff and provide excellent internal service to staff and peers.
- Ensure that department employees provide excellent customer service and receive appropriate customer service training.
Personnel Management
- Actively address performance and personnel issues in a timely manner.
- Ensure adherence to company policies.
- Properly document personnel matters.
- Make sure all product dates are thoroughly checked and all staff is using the FIFO method when stocking shelves.
Safety
- Ensure that department shelves, displays, and storage areas are in clean, orderly condition, meeting health department standards.
- Ensure compliance with safety practices and procedures, both throughout the store and within the department.
- Develop a culture of safety among employees.
