JOB FILLED - Salesperson

Job Description: 

The Potandon sales team member will be responsible for maintaining assigned accounts, obtaining new orders, and when possible establish new accounts by planning and organizing their daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales customers. Each team member will maintain a customer base with business in excess of 1 million finished cases per year.

As part of a sales team, all sales staff members work their assigned Sales Manager to drive incremental case sales, clear floors at all packing locations, and grow the overall business on our complete product line. Sales Team members are expected to maintain high level of professionalism in all aspects of spoken and written communication and provide excellent customer service.

Requirements: 
  • B.A. degree in Business and/or 3 years’ experience in high volume sales.
  • Knowledge of potato and onion markets on a national level.
  • Computer proficiency in appropriate business-related software (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong delegation and time management skills with the ability to resolve problems among customers, co-packers, and other employees in a non-confrontational manner.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Team player - results oriented - accountability.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Know and understand the assigned retail/wholesale customer base.
  • Take ownership of assigned sales base and management of associates.
  • Work with management to keep customer goals consistent with company goals.
  • Communicate with management, accounting, and operations as necessary.
  • Maximize returns to growers and co-packers.
  • Maximize the sales of existing customers with the full product line. Work with Floor Manager to develop pricing/supply guidelines. 
  • Maximize sales through opportunity buys and effective ad planning. Work with Floor Manager to prioritize in short situations. Control expenses and operate within budget parameters.
  • Serve as backup to other salespeople when necessary. Travel to customer locations or trade shows as necessary. Carry out any special assignments upon request.
