To respond to strong growth opportunities in the West, the company is seeking for a full time HUMAN RESOURCES BUSINESS PARTNER. Reporting to the Corporate executive of HR, the new HR Business Partner will play a key role in supporting the management and the employees for two divisions in BC, the product packing plant, Salade Etcetera! all-year round as well as the farm during high seasonal work-loads.

In collaboration with the corporate office and key leaders of the Western Region, the incumbent will be also responsible for supervising the start-up of the new business unit in BC including the establishment of human resources department and the work teams to start operations in spring 2018. 

The new HR Business Partner will need to be available for training in our current division in Canada (Quebec region).

Requirements: 

Training and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management
  • Have a minimum of 5-7 years of previous experience in a generalist Human Resources role in a complex organization with multiple geographic locations, with at least 2 years of full-cycle recruitment experience under your belt
  • Working knowledge of Canadian labor laws, provincial and federal legislation and immigration provisions
  • Thrive in a challenging, fast-changing and fast-paced environment
  • Understanding of payroll and basic accounting practices

Additional Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver's license and current passport
  • Available to travel across Canada and also outside the country
Responsibilities & Duties: 

The incumbent will act has a resource and subject-matter expert and will be responsible for providing human resource support and partnering with management and employees in all HR areas including recruiting, employee relations, health and safety, training and development, performance management, administration of benefits and compensation programs, compliance, policies and programs.

The HR and Payroll Coordinator will report to the incumbent. The HR Business Partner will also be responsible for managing compliance at the Federal, State and Local level. This hands-on position will work closely with all employee personnel to cultivate and maintain a positive and high performing. The goal is to promote company existing values and policies to enable business success through human resources management.

Key responsibilities

  • Actively coach supervisors and leads on how to address employee relations' issues according to company policies
  • Coaches, counsels and guides employees on problem resolution; help them identify solutions and encourage them to constructively resolve conflicts
  • Provide timely and effective feedback of observations to help constructively resolve conflicts and improve managerial skills
  • Proactively identifies HR issues, develops solutions and involves the appropriate resources to ensure a fair, positive and timely resolution
  • Conducts and documents all employee relations investigations
  • Oversee and manage our performance review system
  • Manage and lead a creative recruitment process
  • Performs or manages new employee orientations regarding company policies and procedures
  • Oversee and manage time clock system
  • Nurture a positive working environment
  • Assess required training needs to apply and conduct or monitor required training programs for safety or other employee or company needs
  • File and manage worker’s compensation and insurance claims; actively working with insurance company to obtain best results for employee and company
  • Manage the Benefits programs, implementing, administering and communicating to our employees; working with insurance broker to optimize our investment in employee benefits
  • Protects interests of employees and the company in accordance with company policies and governmental laws and regulations
  • Be sensitive to legal issues and protects organization from areas of possible exposure and risk
  • Performs other duties as assigned
