JOB FILLED - Line Leader Operator

Job Description: 

We have purchased approximately 700 acres of land in Coldstream and we will build a produce packing plant of 70,000 square foot state. We intend to begin operations in BC starting in the spring/early summer of 2018. With our latest acquisition, we are currently looking for a Line Leader Operator.

A line leader is an operator-leader in the action that guides his team to deliver the production plan established for his line, as efficiently as possible, by owning the standard systems of day-to-day management, particularly in health and safety, work and food security.

Under the responsibility of the production supervisor, you are accountable for the performance of your line, you will have to operate by organizing the tasks of your team according to the established standards (productivity, costs and quality of the product) in order to respect the deadlines of production. You participate in the improvement of standards and operational performance and ensure compliance with the policies and procedures of the company (OHS, good manufacturing practices and HACCP).

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Organize its production line, participate in the evaluation of its manpower requirements (PMO, OFB, laborers), equipment and components in order to meet the expected performance
  • Evaluate the time required to execute the production schedule
  • Ensure communications with the supervisor, help with the production schedule and maintenance
  • Evaluate production expectations in order to understand the stages of production and its needs
  • Perform the inventory count to make sure you have the right components
  • Raise problems and / or production anomalies and participate in the resolution
  • Make sure to meet delivery deadlines, quality, manufacturing standards and productivity and properly integrate the required information into current production and at the end of the shift
  • Participate in the assessment of manpower requirements and distribute assignments and responsibilities according to the skills of the assigned staff
  • Ensure that the personnel provided to him / her are adequately trained on the tasks, that the work done is in accordance with the policies and procedures of the company and advise of any problems related to this one
  • Maximize its daily impact on its employees by ensuring a sustained and regular presence
  • Communicate any employee problem requiring a disciplinary notice to the production supervisor and ensure its application
  • Check the performance of employees on an ad hoc basis, assess training needs and follow-up with the production supervisor
  • Ensure that employees work safely and respect the established dress code and the wearing of mandatory protective equipment
  • Rotate or replace as needed during breaks and dinners
  • Ensure compliance with good practices, policies and standards established by the company
Qualifications: 
  • High school diploma in mechanical engineering or DEP in production equipment operation or electromechanical automation systems or industrial maintenance or other relevant training
  • Relevant experience as an operator
  • Experience in team management
