JOB FILLED - Outside Sales Associate

Job Description: 

Hearn Kirkwood is a one stop perishable produce distributor to food service and retail customers alike. We are currently looking to hire an Outside Sales Associate, someone who is responsible for finding new customers and retaining the old ones.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Develops knowledge, familiarity and understanding of products and services, as well as knowledge of Hearn Kirkwood policies and procedures.
  • Keeps management informed by submitting activity and result reports. Such as weekly call reports and monthly work plans.
  • Represents Hearn Kirkwood during the sales process by visiting customer locations to act as an intermediary between customer service, production, purchasing and the customer in developing new and existing accounts.
  • Develops understanding of customer’s needs and matches those needs with company products and services.  Presents to customer information on various products and services offered by Hearn Kirkwood.
  • Identifies potential customers and develops understanding how Hearn Kirkwood products and services will meet their needs.  Pursues leads and gathers market intelligence on opportunities and competitors. 
  • Develops sales presentations for current and prospective customers, subject to review and approval by Vice President of Sales & General Manager.  Conducts sales presentations to provide customers clarification on how Hearn Kirkwood can meet their specific requirements.
  • Providing product quotes to customers as needed.
  • Resolve customer concerns by investigating problems, developing solutions and making recommendations to management.
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in sales or marketing related field from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience.
  • Food Service experience in either sales, culinary or restaurant management.
  • Establish relationships with customers to gain future opportunities.
  • Effective time management, organization and multi-tasking skills.
  • Very strong communication skills in writing and verbal.
  • Very good team player and should work well under pressure.
  • Dependable/Efficient transportation and familiarity with the Baltimore-Washington metro area.
  • Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
