Job Filled Bell Pepper Packing House Mechanic/Electrician

Job Description: 

Live Oak Farms is expanding our Bell Pepper operations with new state of the art packinghouse automation featuring the Aweta Advanced Vision 3D packing line at its core.  As a result, we are looking for a full time Mechanic/Electrician to maintain this system, to insure the highest possible production, with the lowest possible downtime. 

The ideal candidate will use their Mechanical/Electrical training and extensive experience to Reduce/eliminate unscheduled downtime by maintaining all components in prime working condition through regular maintenance and repair to be performed as much as possible during scheduled non production hours.

Requirements: 
  • Experienced in Electrical, Electronics and Computers, Motor Controls and Mechanical.  (PLC upload/downloading and modification of programs preferred).
  • Knowledge of Aweta packing lines and HD camera systems is Highly preferred. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize maintenance based upon Aweta and Live Oak SOPs during limited non-production windows.
  • Effective communication skills (Spanish is desirable).
  • Proficient with Excel, Word.
  • Must be able to work Monday-Saturdays in-season; on-call for troubleshooting at any time packing lines are in operation.
  • Understands the role of food safety in a fresh produce processing environment.
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Maintain Pepper packing operations with regular preventative maintenance.
  • Trouble-shoot problems on Live Oak’s pepper lines (tomatoes as required), and repair when necessary, to ensure smooth operation of all machines and equipment.
  • Perform daily inspection of all plant equipment.
  • Maintains records for scheduled and completed repairs and inspections.
  • On-demand response to emergency requests and or equipment failures.
  • Constant upgrading of technical skills to allow Live Oak to capitalize on new technologies in automation and advances in defect sorting optics and software.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
