JOB FILLED - Assistant Controller

Job Description:

We are currently looking for an energetic and solution-oriented person to join our finance and accounting team. Direct and oversee the financial affairs of the organization including audit and review of financial processes and statements.  The position involves supervision over AR/AP functions, general ledger, cost accounting, and inventory processes.

Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in the above described areas of responsibility.
  • Previous experience in the agricultural industry required and working knowledge of Famous software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to perform analytic review of financial information to identify inconsistent results, research and recommend corrective action.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with sales and senior management to build a high level of confidence in the work produced.  
  • Self-starter with the ability to meet deadlines and possess strong organizational skills.
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Assistant controller is responsible for all tasks as outlined below for several business entities. 
  • Oversee all day-to-day activities of the accounting department including accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets and general ledger.
  • Manage the monthly financial closing process, account analysis, and account reconciliations with the support of the other finance team members.
  • Trains, supervises, and assists department staff and prepares employee performance assessments and evaluations.
  • Oversee all aspects of inventory to ensure accurate and timely reporting of adjustments and inventory on hand.
  • Actively participates in the documentation/development of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls & SOP’s.
  • Assist in the annual budget with the assistance of other departments.
  • Participate in implementation of key initiatives in operations, sales and finance areas.
