We invite you to join our family, as we are currently looking for a Packing Facility – Assistant Operations Manager: Titan Farms is seeking a full-time Assistant Operations Manager to further business and infrastructure development and assist in all operational aspects of its highly technical packing facility. The chosen applicant will assist in managing a team of over 125 employees in the various positions required of such a facility including all fruit and vegetable grading and packing, inventory control of packaging materials as well as receiving of raw products and shipping of packed products. This position will also assist in managing, training, documenting and implementing policies and procedures surrounding the company’s Food/Health Safety programs.  Due to the seasonality of fresh peach and vegetable production, work hours for this position will vary throughout the year based on the growing season and packing demands of customers. It should be noted that work hours will be longer than traditional work days and will include early mornings, weekends, and some nights as necessary based on scheduling and other circumstances. The chosen applicant should be punctual, self-motivated, and committed to the values of Titan Farms.

Requirements: 
  • Oversee morning startup tests and equipment checks to ensure accurate and efficient operation.
  • Monitor and assist packing house maintenance staff to ensure that all PM work is completed on schedule to reduce potential workday downtime.
  • Work with all equipment suppliers to increase efficiency and accuracy of packing machinery and equipment.
  • Assist in managing pack house and shipping/receiving staff. This includes ensuring each staff member is appropriately trained in the policies and procedures for their particular role to promote operational efficiency throughout the packing and shipping process.
  • Assist the Director of Packing in all aspects of pack house operations.
  • Manage post-harvest handling and treatment of products.
  • Develop and implement training procedures for operators on all positions on the packing line.
  • Lead production meetings and manage all operations in the absence of the Director of Packing.
  • Ensure labor reporting and pack-out reporting is completed accurately each day.
  • Work with pack house management team in developing a production schedule.  This may require coordination with the sales team.
  • Assist in recording downtime resulting from maintenance or equipment breakdowns for tracking labor costs.
  • Maintain morning startup logs.
  • Evaluate quality issues and provide viable solutions to upper management for correction of those issues.
  • Ensure timely reporting of all machine/equipment malfunctions to maintenance staff and to the Director of Packing.
  • Participate in outside training for proficiency in all aspects of food safety and other health/safety regulations.
  • Assist in the accurate and timely completion of all relevant food safety logs and other documentation as required for continued proficiency of the annual audit.
  • Work closely with appropriate departments to ensure the Food/Health Safety programs are strictly followed and efficiently maintained.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications: 
  • Previous experience in managing people and teams of workers.
  • Ability to work and lead without constant supervision.
  • Microsoft Office Suite: Intermediate skill level.
  • High level of organization and the ability to think quickly and “out of the box”.
  • Ability to train and serve as a mentor to other employees.
  • Ability to collaborate and work as a member of a team.
  • Ability to solve problems in an efficient and concise manner.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English highly desired but not required.
  • Previous pack house experience is a plus.
