Job Description: 

The Recruiter position is responsible for interviewing, performing background and reference checks, job, aptitude, and personality testing and the hiring of applicants for Logistics, clerical, technical, administrative, accounting, Human Resources and management positions throughout the company. This position must possess considerable skill in interviewing techniques, a good knowledge of all positions and specialized functions in the company, a basic understanding of the company's organizational structure as well as an extensive knowledge of personnel policy and procedure and federal and state laws regarding employment practices.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Partners with Human Resources and department managers to determine staffing needs.
  • Maintains a continual presence in recruiting arenas including websites, such as Indeed, Linked-In, Joe Produce and social media.
  • Screens resumes, interviews candidates (by phone or in person), administers appropriate.
  • Assessments, reference/background checking, makes recommendations for hire (or not hire) and deliver employment offers for both exempt and nonexempt position openings within an assigned territory.
  • Develops advertising programs (internal and external) in order to ensure high visibility with potential candidates.
  • Acts as a liaison with the area’s employment agencies, temporary agencies and advertising agencies. Processes and checks advertising agency billings. Also, maintains the record status of authorized positions within SFCOS, employment verifications, and the employee referral program.
  • Manages the internal transfer process, which includes screening, coordination of interviews with both HR and the department managers, preparation of the transfer offer letters, etc.
  • Follows up with the candidates, HR, and department managers to ensure the updated information on the interview process status.
  • Develops and maintains an excellent relationship with internal and external clients to achieve the staffing goals.
  • Communicates important employment information during the delivery of the employment offers (i.e. benefits, compensation, etc.). Notifies the department Manager/Supervisor of the newly hired employees starting date and the position the employee is filling, etc.
  • Works with HR to ensure compliance with all federal/state laws and regulations.
  • Directly facilitates the “on boarding” of all professional staff. Indirectly facilities in unison with HR and the department manager the “on boarding” of all non-professional staff.
  • Manages the application/resume file and retention file according to SFCOS’s company policy.
  • Perform a variety of general office support duties; make copies; maintain calendar of activities, meetings, and various events for assigned staff; process mail including receiving, sorting, time-stamping, logging, and distributing incoming and outgoing correspondence and packages.
  • Provide customer service support to internal and external customers. Develop communication tools to enhance the understanding of the company's policies.
  • Conduct new hire benefit orientation either in person, by phone or via video conference, in order to become fully integrated.
  • Provide analytical and well documented reports HR and management teams.
  • Promote company’s reputation as Preferred Employer.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Education: 

● Highs School Diploma or equivalent required, plus one year office/clerical support experience
● Field of Study: Human Resources (preferred)
● Experience: 1 plus years of experience in Human Resources (preferred)

Skills: 
Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure.
● Proficiency in the English language, verbal and written, and ability to communicate with team members and inter company personnel in Spanish.
● Knowledge and proficiency of Word, Excel, electronic mail, FAMOUS, and Google Docs.
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
● Ability to set priorities, coordinate multiple tasks and organize tasks.
● Ability to exercise independent professional judgment and maintain confidentiality of critical, sensitive and HIPAA information, records and reporting.
● Hands-on experience with Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS).
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and strong decision making skills. This role will require travel to the company's areas of operations up to and including overnight travel as needed (travel 25% to 35% of the time).
