Vegpro International Inc. is a continuously growing Canadian company located in Quebec, Canada (St-Patrice-de-Sherrington) and has nearly 900 employees. The company has three (3) product packing plants, two (2) plants in Quebec and one (1) in Florida (Belle-Glade), in addition to farm land in Quebec and Florida.
The company is growing so you will contribute to accommodate the growth we are experiencing. There are over 200 employees throughout the company in Florida.

The Harvest Supervisor plans, organizes, coordinates and directs irrigation operations according to established standards. He ensures the continuous development of irrigation practices and the optimum use of equipment, including water pumping and distribution infrastructures. He manages several employees based in Quebec and Florida on operational priorities and cost optimization objectives. The area to be irrigated in Quebec includes 3,000 acres of mesclun, spinach, arugula, onions, carrots and lettuce and 2,000 acres in Florida. He works with a team of supervisors and professionals as well as with the manager and the engineer of the farm. Lastly, he respects and ensures the application of the policies and procedures of Occupational Health and Safety Programme (OHS) and the Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) in the matter of food safety of his department.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Plan, organize, coordinate and direct harvesting and weeding operations
  • Ensure the management of the infrastructure and equipment park of his department and see the development of harvesting practices according to efficiency and quality objectives
  • Manage employees under his supervision (team leader and farm workers)
  • Respect and ensure compliance with OHS and GAP policies and procedures for food safety
  • Perform any other related tasks
Qualifications: 
  • High School Vocational Studies in horticultural production and environmental technology, farm management and operation or other relevant training. A lack of a degree can be compensated by sufficient experience
  • Experience of three (3) to five (5) years relevant in a similar position, ideally in market gardening
  • Relevant experience in personnel management
  • Proficiency in oral and written English
  • Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to work long hours
