JOB FILLED - Sales Representative - New Jersey

Job Description: 

The Sales Representative will be responsible for sales growth, maintaining current customer accounts and developing new accounts, maintaining proactive customer relations, preparing sales reports and participating in marketing activities such as trade shows.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Develop new business, penetrate existing accounts, and minimize lost business to achieve profitable sales growth and special objectives within assigned territory or business line.
  • Seek and qualify prospects in accordance with company account stratification goals.
  • Research customer business needs and develop a mix of commodities to meet needs.
  • Evaluate market trends and recommend commodities to customers, based on business needs and goals.
  • Research market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' products, prices, and sales; share information with customers as part of value-added services provided.
  • Establish new business opportunities with potential customers through cold calling, provided leads, networking, referrals and field activity.
  • Create a pipeline of qualified opportunities and develop strategies to move the opportunities through the sales cycle to closing.
  • Work to establish add-on business to maximize product lines with existing customers.
  • Provide accurate and timely price quotations to customers and prospects.
  • Investigate, track and resolve customer and client concerns; identify trends and implement solutions.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of each customer’s business and develop viable solutions to meet their needs.
  • Establish long term working relationships with customers and providing excellent customer service.  
  • Monitor and analyze weekly sales results against budget.
  • Present an action plan to identify specific targets and create a timeline from initial contact to sale.
  • Update and maintain CRM systems.
  • Prepare presentations, proposals and sales contracts.
  • Prepare a variety of status reports, including activity, closings, follow-up, and adherence to goals.
  • Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activity to appropriate company staff.
  • Participate in marketing events such as seminars, trade shows, and telemarketing events.

Ideal Candidate: 
  • Related experience with  produce
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
Qualifications: 
  • Knowledge with PACA/USDA/Inspections/FOB/Deliveries/PAS 
  • Two years’ experience in produce sales
