Job Description: 
International Fresh Produce Grower and Distributor searching for qualified, bilingual Transportation Coordinator who is service-oriented, cost-conscious, and a good communicator.

This person will manage all fresh produce transportation needs for USA and Canada customers. Includes ensuring compliance with Company standards, federal rules, and DOT regulations.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Understanding of carriers (LTL and FTL)
  • Uploads all data in system and coordinate processes
  • Processes Customs paperwork as needed
  • Supports vendor invoicing process and troubleshoot issues such as:
    • Discrepancies
    • Fetching timely invoices
    • Coordinating payment terms and transportation contracts as needed
  • Requests quotes
  • Bid submissions
  • Day to day transportation movement operations
  • Supports new programs/facilities including:
    • Allocation
    • Understands inventory levels
    • Coordinates transfers between facilities to ensure volume needs for our customers
  • Seeks and sets up new transportation vendors
  • Creates analytical data to assist other departments in making business decisions. Includes:
    • Rates per mile
    • Vendor performance
    • Control expenses
  • Processes and manages Transportation Claims
Qualifications: 
  • Experience in contracting freight moves internationally and domestically
  • Experience with cross-border shipments, including preparation of customs documentation
  • Strong systems capabilities and experience, preferably with Microsoft products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Some knowledge of SAP or other ERPs preferred
  • Solid communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to follow and enforce prescribed processes for order entry in our ERP system, used to bid out, award and track in-process shipments
  • Ability to stay organized while coordinating multiple projects
  • Clerical skills including filing, data entry, freight bill audit, etc.
  • Solid negotiating skills
  • Flexibility supporting other areas of operations
  • Produce experience preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
