JOB FILLED - Production Manager

Job Description: 

The Production Manager must be a dynamic individual with a hands-on ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented food-processing environment.  Must have the ability to make decisions, maintain regular and acceptable attendance, follow directions, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow posted work rules/procedures, and accept and act on developmental feedback.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Manage Plant Production Teams to deliver Cost, Quality, Service and Safety goals.
  • Lead grading, sorting, processing and packaging teams in the day to day processing activities of date products.
  • Responsible for setting goals, removing obstacles, and holding team members accountable to delivering world class results.
  • Responsible for storing, handling, processing and packaging dates, and date products according to food safety requirements.
  • Responsible for operating within labor and material budgets.
  • Ensure all equipment and facilities are properly maintained and serviced.
  • Strong commitment and demonstrated capability to development of team members.
  • Aggressively lead and develop a Continuous Improvement culture, including developing and utilizing Subject Matter Experts, seeking out and using Industry Best Practices and providing performance related feedback and needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in operations management or equivalent work experience.
  • 4 - 5 years' supervisory experience in a production environment, preferably in the food processing industry, involving efficiency improvement/monitoring, and quality management.
  • Experience in leading and developing factory floor personnel at multiple levels.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage, motivate, and train people.
  • Must have computer skills including Excel and Word.
  • Bilingual in both Spanish and English is preferred.
  • Ability to climb stairs, spends most of time standing and walking, and maneuvers around an array of equipment.
