The PCA/Production Manager is responsible for the development and management of all aspects of the Production Department and the bareroot tree programs.
You will oversee daily operation of production department, including but not limited to determining daily work assignments, chemical/fertilizer applications, irrigation requirements, pruning, weed control, and labor requirements.

Responsibilities & Duties:

Maintain ongoing knowledge of propagation procedures.

Prepare and work within budget parameters, recommend adjustments as needed.

Prepare planting projections in conjunction with sales orders.

Ongoing compliance with county, state and federal regulations, i.e., OSHA, DEP, AND SJVAPCD.

Assures proper inventory and maintenance of all nursery equipment i.e., tractors, sprayers, forklifts, etc.

Ongoing development of automated nursery functions.

Develop databases necessary to properly track and account for inventory throughout the growing process.

Seek/attend educational opportunities for personal development as well as staff development.
Qualifications:
- PCA License
- California Driver’s License
- Strong organizational skills
- 3-5 years experience in bareroot production
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient with a personal computer
- Working knowledge of popular spreadsheets and databases
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
