Requirements: 
  • Responsible for handling all day-to-day business, clerical and analytical transactions.
  • Works closely with other account managers and strategic account managers.
  • Handles customer claims on fruit shipments and supports settlement negotiations.
  • Responsible for order entry and processing, providing visibility to assigned accounts.
  • Supports in the resolution of credit and collection issues with assigned customers.
  • Analyzes both customer specific and market sales data to optimize sales strategies.
  • Required to travel domestically to customer sites, sales meetings and food shows.
  • Regular and timely attendance according to company policy.
  • Accomplishes department and organization goals by completing related tasks and projects as needed.
Responsibilities & Duties: 

The job of the Junior Account Manager in the Domestic Sales department is to support the Senior Manager position selling fresh produce to retail and wholesale customers using market and customer specific information to ensure proper analysis and service levels while pursuing internal company objectives.

Education: 
  • Bachelor Degree in Agriculture, Business, Marketing or a related field or equivalent.
Qualifications: 
  • At least 2 years’ selling experience in a sales environment or work experience related to fresh fruit sales and marketing.
  • Ability to learn and understand produce market conditions.
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
  • Creative and positive thinker.
  • Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion.
  • Ability to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percentages and/or ratios.
  • Strong computer skills: must be proficient in MS Office, Word, Excel and Outlook; ability to operate standard office equipment.
  • Must be detail oriented; work in a fast-paced environment with high ability to multitask.
  • Ability to acquire and apply new knowledge or skills for work and recognize own strengths and weaknesses.
  • Works mainly in an office environment subject to continuous interruptions and mild to moderate background noises.
  • Work may include extended periods of time viewing a computer monitor and operating a keyboard.
  • Works an 8-hour workday Monday through Friday in the Pasadena office, however, may work overtime as needed. Telecommuting is not an option.
