Job Description:
United Fresh is seeking a proactive and high energy professional to lead responsibility for engagement and business development with all companies in the Latin and South American fresh produce industry, allied suppliers and retail/foodservice customers, with a focus primarily on companies wanting to or doing business in the North American market. This position will deliver value to these companies leading to United Fresh membership; participation in association education events; exhibits, sponsorship and attendance at United Fresh shows.
This position reports to Vice President, Member Services, and will engage with the CEO and senior management team to ensure association-wide focus on international membership value.

Requirements:

Spanish language fluency with ability to connect with audiences in target countries, follow along with typical business conversations, address audiences in Spanish, and casually communicate in a business setting. United Fresh will commit to adequate language training/refresher support as needed for success.

A passion for member and customer service.

Three to five years of professional experience, with demonstrated customer relations and business development ability.

Knowledge of fresh produce industry and international trade flows among North, Central and South America a plus.

Ability to interact with industry and government leaders with confidence, building relationships that lead to support of United Fresh.

Strong public speaking skills as United Fresh’ primary voice to these audiences.

Ability to travel up to 30% of time, both domestically and internationally, as needed to facilitate reaching goals.
Responsibilities & Duties:

Assess target audiences and develop business strategies with the goal of driving revenue through membership, exhibit sales and participation.

Organize an International Advisory Committee of Board members and industry leaders influential in the Latin and South American industry to provide strategic support for all initiatives and to act similarly to our market segment boards and councils.

Serve as association’s primary liaison to Latin and South American governments and embassies to develop stronger business relationships that can enhance overall success.

Ensure that professional, culture-appropriate translation of current United Fresh materials and educational programs are available for Spanish-speaking audiences.

Work with the CEO and government relations team in organizing and promoting United Fresh’s first Global Trade Symposium associated with the September 2018 Washington Conference.
