Job Description:
With approximately 30,000 acres in California, Sun Pacific® is the largest grower/shipper of navel oranges in the world, the largest grower/shipper of kiwi in North America, the 2nd largest grower/shipper of mandarins in North America, the largest tomato grower in California and renown for high quality table grapes. Our core focus is on farming, providing us with deep expertise in every aspect of growing these crops, including all cultural aspects, pest control, irrigation technologies and specialized equipment use, all tied together with sophisticated information systems. Our team is growing and currently looking for a refrigeration manager for its packing and cold storage facility in Reedley, CA.
Reporting Relationship: The Refrigeration Manager will report directly to the plant manager and plant engineer.

Responsibilities & Duties:
- Coordinating and managing all activities in the refrigeration department
- Troubleshooting refrigeration cycle
- Maintaining facility lighting system current and operating
- Maintaining entire facility and all surroundings areas of the site, such as but not limited to buildings, administrative office
- facilities,storage, security, and related within the annually approved budget
- Purchasing materials and equipment as approved by management and at the best pricing points available
- Maintaining safety and security programs and services for the site
- Testing, reporting, and recordkeeping status of electric solenoids, emergency ammonia dump systems, and all other refrigeration programs, as required
- Maintaining water systems, which include on site-water wells and waste water ponds (maintaining proper levels and performing all required sampling and reporting/recordkeeping)
- Maintaining workplace safety and environmental compliance with coordination with safety manager, management, and all applicable local, state, and federal agencies
- Maintaining facility and surrounding property clean/sanitary and organized to fulfill food safety requirements and Company expectations
- Performing all other duties, assignments, and projects as assigned by management
Skills:
- Knowledge of PSM/Cal-ARP, HACCP, food safety, and related
- Knowledge in refrigeration electrical systems
- Ability to troubleshoot refrigeration cycle
- Ability to effectively train, develop and lead employees to perform successfully
- Ability to be a self-starter and cost-effective/budget focused
- Ability to work independently with little supervision and have excellent communication skills
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple responsibilities and tasks
- Ability to maintain good house cleaning within the department; and
- Ability to work in, extensive hours, weekends, and be very flexible to compliment operations for continued success
Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience in ammonia refrigeration
- Experience in troubleshooting PLC controllers ( input/output cards and HMI interfaces)
- Experience in condensers and defrost systems; and
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
