JOB FILLED - Shipping Manager

Job Description: 

The Shipping Manager will be required to ensure that the merchandise which is being shipped in or out is done so in a proper manner. They maintain shipping records and handle the paperwork associated with shipping duties. They prepare consignments by checking quality and quantity, ensuring that there is no damage and making sure that they are labeled properly.

Requirements: 
  • You will be required to ensure proper training of all employees regarding GMPs, Safety, Quality and other company procedures and programs
  • You are responsible  for managing all important documents such as advanced  shipping notice, pick slips, bills of lading etc
  • Work in collaboration with other departmental managers to ensure a free-flowing process
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Manage shipping warehouse team to ensure practices and procedures are followed
  • Responsible for continuous improvement to Quality and Food Safety
  • Responsible for managing Good Manufacturing Practices throughout the warehouse
  • Maintain and uphold finished product specifications
  • Ensure Quality and Food Safety training for Shipping Supervisors
  • Assist in product trace back and recalls
  • Responsible for accuracy, quality and on time departures ofloads
  • Develop and follow through on procedures to increase productivity and efficiency
  • Maintain communications with Shipping Lead and Supervisor
  • Conduct employee performance and conduct evaluations
  • Ensure proper training and performance of new hires
  • Effectively maintain working relationships with other departments within Taylor Farms
  • Ensure paperwork is processed correctly and efficiently
  • Responsible for reporting and reaching goals set forth by KPI' s
  • Shipping Supervisor will assume role responsibilities in case of absence
  • Follow and enforce all forklift certifications per Taylor Farms and OSHA requirements
  • Follow and enforce all GMP and PPE procedures per Taylor Farms requirements
  • Follow and enforce all safety rules and regulations per Taylor Farms requirements
  • Follow and enforce any and all additional duties or responsibilities assigned by Operations Manager
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor's degree or experience equivalent required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a management position required
  • Previous foodservice experience preferred, but not required
  • Previous experience in warehouse inventory management system
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook required
  • Excellent mathematical skills with attention to detail
  • Self-motivation and initiative to follow through on daily assignments
  • Excellent communication and team building skills
  • English and/or Spanish, oral and written, communication skills are required
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen
  • Proficiency in MS office suite required
