JOB FILLED - FOB Sales-Potatoes (Flexible Location)

Job Description: 

Robinson Fresh’s definition of the Potato Category (conventional or organic) includes Russets (organic only), Reds (organic only), Yellows, Fingerlings, Proprietary (Albert Bartlett: Rooster, Peruvian Sun & Anya), and bite-size convenience pack varieties.  As a FOB Sales Specialist, you’ll work alongside other Robinson Fresh employees, interacting daily with the Albert Bartlett supply team, growers and shippers to get up-to-date price and volume information and then sell to Robinson Fresh’s customers in all industry sectors: Retail, Wholesale, Foodservice, and Alternative Channels.

This role demands the ability to react and adapt quickly to changing conditions, a proactive, determined, resilient approach to sales and strong communication skills. You’ll play a pivotal role in directing the end-to-end supply chain, leveraging a solid infrastructure to deliver year-round programs.

Compensation/Salary:

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Communicating and negotiating pricing with growers, customers and the Robinson Fresh network
  • This would include daily and advance pricing
  • Understanding and taking reasonable risks in order to secure future business from customers and network
  • Sales of grower program and transactional Potato products
  • Expand new business by focusing on customer needs and market potential
  • Perform administrative duties to ensure accurate documentation and smooth processes
  • Communicate growing programs to the Robinson Fresh network as to daily and projected volume, quality and varieties
  • Be able to forecast pricing 4-6 weeks in advance and up to yearlong contracts
  • Monitor and manage inventory for daily and advanced orders
  • Procure product for possible gaps or short term shortages
  • Liaison between Robinson management, growers, sales team and customers
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant industry experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ fresh sales experience, including all varieties of fresh Potatoes
  • Experience and knowledge of the Grower/ Shipper side of the industry
  • Mindset to exhaust all avenues to get sales
  • Strong relationships with Terminal Market Wholesalers preferred
  • Driven, enthusiastic and highly motivated
  • Ability to work in a team environment, while also delivering independent results
  • Strong ability to persuade, motivate and influence others
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage time effectively
  • Excellent systems knowledge: MS Office and internet
  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid financial acumen
  • Travel up to 10% (or as needed)
