We are currently seeking an Experienced Citrus Category Manager Produce to join us in our headquarters located in the Inland Empire area of Southern California. This role will require the ability to gain a “deep dive” knowledge of the assigned product(s), including each product’s market dynamics, competitive landscape, and production costs.
The Citrus Category Manager will liaise between our grower base and our account managers to “bring together” our consolidated supply and demand with an end to optimize grower returns and buyer satisfaction. The right candidate will have good people and market instinct, a win-win view of both grower and buyer interests, and will “know when to hold, and when to fold” to keep product moving and the business growing!
- Citrus category experience
- Farming, packing, shipping, and buying/sales experience
- Personnel and product management
- Spanish/English biliteracy required
- Manage Grower-Supplier business relationship according to agreement terms
- Seasonal and weekly supply and demand planning
- Accurately assess market using trade feedback and statistical analysis
- Advise Sales on weekly lid pricing and ad offers
- Provide daily internal rundown (pricing and availability) to Account Managers
- Hold Sales accountable for pricing performance
- Generate weekly sales and market analysis for growers and for Sales Team
- Align weekly sales plan to company placement strategy
- Consignment and buy/sell product purchasing
- Inbound logistical coordination
- Inventory aging and rotation
- Supply surge placement
- Lot-order allocation according to availability and condition
- Reporting of sales activity to growers
- Gross margin management by customer, grower and product
- Oversee Quality Assurance, Compliance and Operations Employees
