THE POSITION:
Organically Grown Company is seeking an Account Representative to work closely with accounts to provide exceptional customer care, introduce new products & assortments, be a key partner and resource in providing store level consultation on organic produce and trade movement. Our Account Representatives exemplify OGC values and relationship marketing model by ensuring quality and service expectations are met, ultimately the Account Representative proactively and continuously contributes to account success.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Works closely with the sales planning and purchasing functions to keep an effective and timely flow of communication about account needs and product availability.
  • Key relationship manager on medium to large accounts, which may include setting custom pricing and writing promotions.
  • Maintain or increase sales volumes by providing accounts with personalized service and enhancing OGC’s reputation for reliable quality and service.
  •  Enhance business from existing accounts as well as through partnerships.
  • May assist in developing new business by identifying new contacts, and providing reporting information on potential accounts.
  • Manages order accuracy; Ensures orders include all necessary instructions regarding specific products, producers, and prices. With support from the Senior Account Representative, solves service problems, tracks order/delivery errors, calls on accounts to resolve issues and follows up on special orders. 
  • Maintains a working knowledge and direction of OGC inventory. Keeps Buyers informed of account requests, trends and projected volume.
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of OGC’s products, quality, pack, promotions, substitutions, pricing and services to be able to match products to account needs and increase sales volume. 
  • Must have a comprehensive understanding of account needs and preferences, and how best to service each account while also effectively communicating those needs to other departments within OGC. 
  • Proactively provide guidance and recommendations to Sales Manager on innovations, market trends, opportunities or risks. Alerts the team of inventory issues or concerns as they occur and demonstrates responsibility for inventory.
  • Provide basic account reporting, data and analysis related to account business reviews; Makes regular store level visits to assigned accounts to assess customer satisfaction with price, products and service.
  • Provides support to Sales Managers and Senior Account Representatives as needed for additional visits.
  • Processes credit requests, determines reason for loss, and informs Buyers and quality team of quality issues.
  • Provides appropriate follow up.
  • Key partner for in store programs; Includes but not limited to assisting with in store samplings, store staff training, setting up displays & merchandizing. Being a hands on resource for new store layouts, restructures, and openings.
  • May require travel up to 15% as assigned.
  • Negotiates products and pricing with accounts based on margin goals, which may include providing volume discounts or other agreements. Promotes products on special or as directed by sales planning.
  • Successfully sets ads with accounts and purchasing team (ad-writing).
Education: 
  • High school diploma with minimum of 2 years of experience in sales; Preferred: undergraduate degree with minimum 2-years commercial produce experience or combined overall equivalent experience.
  • Must have proven skills and/or experience in the following areas: increasing sales volume for assigned accounts; negotiating volume or pricing agreements with clients; and completing business documentation.
  • Experience with fresh produce varieties, organic trade, growing practices, sustainability movement and produce merchandizing.
  • Experience with OGC’s service and marketing policies preferred.
  • Experience with OGC’s product labels preferred.
  • Record of excellent communication and listening skills are required in order to work effectively with all levels of OGC employees and customers.
