The Role

As the Head of Sales – North America you will increase sales of GP Graders machinery, electronics, spare parts, servicing and support services offering by identifying, developing and maintaining close business relationships with key customers.  The position will require energetic approach, independent initiative and skills with a strong understanding, or an ability to quickly acquire a strong understanding, of the horticulture market, specifically fruit machines.  You will identify sales opportunities, develop relationships with key decision makers, including those at the C-Suite level, develop and deliver sales presentations that meet client’s needs, and close sales.  You will be supported by GP Graders’ internal resources and subject matter expects such as our President, Director of Design, VP Production and Head of Customer Experience.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Develop and maintain long-term client and business partner relationships with potential and existing clients leading to sales opportunities and client satisfaction.
  • Prospect and convert leads into profitable business relationships.
  • Promote and sell GP Graders machinery, electronics, spare parts, service and support services.
  • Prepare and present sales proposals and presentations to prospective clients.
  • Assimilate the input from key internal sources to develop targeted marketing strategies and client proposals.
  • Provide project oversight and continuous client feedback to the company management team and the Head of Customer Experience.
  • Remain constantly in tune with all aspects of clients' planning, process and operational requirements.
  • Establish and maintain constant, comprehensive, open communications with other business development and sales team members as well as with management.
  • Represent the company at trade association meetings, seminars and trade shows to promote GP Graders technology, solutions and services. 
Education: 
  • Formal qualifications in engineering, management, marketing, product management or communications are highly desirable.
Skills: 
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Strong analytical and technical abilities.
  • Self-motivated, analytical, quick learner, organized, detail-oriented, multi-tasker.
  • Prioritizes workload and meets deadlines for a variety of customer relations and marketing deliverables.
Qualifications: 
  • 5+ years successful sales experience working.
  • Proven track record of rapidly and consistently generating sales revenue.
  • Demonstrated ability to close high-dollar deals with long sales cycles, multiple decision makers and complex requirements.
  • Experience building positive long term relationships with clients.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
