Job Description:
Berry Fresh is a leading fresh berries distributor located in the Los Angeles area, with additional distribution and packing facilities in New Jersey and Oregon. We import and export blueberries, blackberries, raspberries and strawberries from many regions of the Americas. The position we are seeking will primary work out of our Dominguez Hills, CA facility with the possibility of some travel to our other locations. It is desired to have experience in the berry industry, but will consider experience in the fresh produce industry.

Requirements:

Bachelor Degree in Food or Plant Science, or related field, or similar level of proficiency gained through experience.

Knowledge of fresh produce quality inspection standards.

Knowledge of basic computer programs and ability to read and prepare quality reports.

Willingness to travel and temporary relocation during regional peak production.

Spanish speaking desired, but not required.
Responsibilities & Duties:

Inspect all inbound shipments and outbound orders ensuring compliance with internal, USDA, industry and our customer requirements.

Notify sales, warehouse, inventory control and production team leads of quality issues and recommend solutions.

Complete receiving reports and communicate with growers daily.

Monitor the quality of output from repack and recommend adjustments when needed.

Conduct routine inspections of product in inventory.

Follow all food safety protocol.
