Due to our rapid expansion in North America, we are looking to add a Regional Demand Planner to our team. This is a pivotal role which is an integral part of the sales team, working closely with North American customers, regional sales managers and operations teams to lead the Sales and Operations process and develop the seasonal and longer-term sales plans and manage the detailed customer demand plans and SAP sales forecast. This role focuses on the USA and Canada with some market-side assistance for Central America.

Responsibilities & Duties: 

Customer Sales Planning and Analytics   

  • Developing the retail and distributor sales plan for USA and Canada by channel, fruit group and with projected phasing (with input from Regional Sales Managers and customers)
  • One-year and five-year planning forecasts to form the basis of market supply planning and to support longer term business planning.
  • Consolidating trends - such as customer preferences on sizing, product format etc. 
  • Undertake supporting analytics, including scenario modelling.

Sales forecast and market supply planning

  • Translating the season plan into detailed customer demand plans by origin, port, fruit group, size, packaging format and other customer specific specifications with input from Market Development Managers and key customers.
  • Working with the Market Optimization team to maintain the market allocation plan (MAP) and communicate with the team and key customers.
  • Maintain the sales forecast in SAP and team and customer communication.
  • Develop the detailed market supply plan to support the sales forecast in conjunction with the Operations Coordinator.   

Sales Reporting and Insight Generation    

  • Consolidation of sales reports from North and Central American distributors
  • Monitor retail sales against plan for key retail accounts and provide weekly detailed sales reports by channel for stakeholders
  • Monitor market intelligence including competitor activity and insights.
  • Sales analysis and presentation support for management and account meetings

In-market Sales and Operations planning

  • Maintain oversight of the full Sales and Operations position, reviewing actual sales vs plan and arrival and inventory analysis
  • Lead Sales and Operations management review meetings
  • Maintain coordination between supply, Market Development Managers, customer planners and operations teams.
Qualifications: 
  • At least five years’ experience in demand planning and/or an operational function related to sales and operational planning and procurement
  • Exceptional analytical skills in Excel, SAP, BI/Data warehouse etc other systems
  • Advanced planning and organizing skills
  • Experience with sales and operational planning systems, customer sales planning and fulfillment, data analysis and reporting, and strategic input
  • Ability to apply detailed expertise, develop that knowledge and share it with others in order to enhance the competent operations of multiple functions
  • Effective interpersonal skills, in order to build long-term working relationships at all levels and gain clear agreement and commitment from others
  • Strong process management and development mind-set, with an emphasis on quality and timely outcomes and ability to deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to balance “down in the detail” with the full season demand picture
  • Excellent time management skills – able to prioritize as required to meet deadlines
  • Experience in Fresh Produce a plus, but not required
