JOB FILLED - Sales Assistant

Job Description: 

The Freshwave LLC has a career opportunity available for a motivated individual to join our team as a Sales Assistant. 

We are looking to expand our staff with an experienced Vegetable and Berry Sales specialist. As a member of our sales team, this position is responsible for maintaining daily business with existing accounts and developing new business opportunities in the North America and Canadian markets.

Requirements: 
  • 3-5 years sales and marketing experience directly related to fresh food product sales. 
  • The ability to identify problems and have diverse problem solving skills that rectify problems in a quick fashion. 
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and product development. 
  • Knowledge and ability to use basic software systems. 
  • Must have effective interpersonal skills that demonstrate your ability to work and get along with peers, subordinates and business partners. 
  •  Maintain a high level of customer service at all times. 
  • 3-5 years of produce experience, knowledge of berries. 
  • Knowledge of USDA standards. 
    Knowledge of PACA rules. 
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills. 
  • Ability to effectively negotiate and build strong partnerships with customers. 
  • Ability to adapt to order changing, high volume work environment. 
  • Ability to multitask and have excellent organizational skills. 
  • Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and accomplish goals. 
  •  Ability to concentrate in a noisy environment. 
  • Ability to build and maintain effective internal and external working relationships. 
  • Capability of working in a professional confident manner. 
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills. 
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Compliance with company policy and procedures. 
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Primary job function will be to manage the day-to-day contact with customers.  Customer service of accounts, suppliers and logistic partners. 
  • Trouble file entry, follow through and closure. 
  • Monitoring Itrade, Foodlink, and other E-Commerce systems. 
  • Other duties may include product allocation when demand exceeds supply, handling and processing of any sales allowances, and working with Accounts Receivable in the collection of monies. 
  • Obtain new business and ensure business retention, establish and enforce accountability. 
  •  Develop rapport with decision makers to ensure continued business. 
  • Determine pricing strategies that insure profitability from all customers. 
  • Ability to cover accounts of other coworkers in their absence.
