JOB FILLED - Product Sales and Marketing

Job Description: 

In this role you will oversee and direct all Product sales and marketing including customer service, field visits, and customer visits in California and nationally.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Takes sales calls and creates orders on Hot Sheet for all products.
  • Insures orders are input into the computer system by support staff and works with Office Supervisor to train support staff, if required.
  • Organizes, directs and performs Outside Sales as guided by the TreeSource Business Plan as established by the General Manager
  • Interacts with Shipping Department
  • Implements Annual Sales Plan as established by the TreeSource Business Plan.
  • Conducts Sales Meetings as required.
  • Insures visits to field plantings are scheduled on the day of delivery for troubleshooting and customer service.
  • Is familiar with inventory status by visiting the Nursery, reviewing inventory status reports and Inventory reports when required.
  • Works with office staff to insure customer needs are met by monitoring shipping schedule and daily reports.
  • Works with Office Supervisor to Insure contracts are accurate, that contract lists are maintained and that contract deposits are tracked and collected. Is responsible for accuracy of delegated work.
  • Interfaces with Sales support staff on dispatching to insure customer needs are met. Insures field visits are organized when trees are dispatched.
  • Develops Sales Forecasts as required.
  • Extensive customer service including:
    • Handling customer inquiries and when called upon, training Sales support staff to handle inquiries.
    • Tracking orders to report progress to customer
    • Customer follow-up as needed.
  • Organizes & Attends Trade Shows
  • Manages Web Site updates and e-commerce using inside, and outside personnel as required.
  • Implements Advertising and Marketing as directed by the GM.
  • Insures customer database is maintained in accordance with company standards.
  • Directs the preparation of sales promotions, flyers, newsletters, and other promotions as the need arises using inside and outside personnel as required.
  • Does sales analysis of customer buying patterns using support personnel when required.
  • Procures trees from Outside Nurseries in accordance with the TreeSource Business Plan.
  • Initiates purchases within the Sales Department which includes, advertising costs, freight charges, customer refunds, etc.
Skills: 
Strong overall computer skills:  EXCEL, WORD and OUTLOOK skills.  Familiar with accounting programs, preferably Famous 6.0. and familiar with internet sales. Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.  Experience in customer service.  Problem solving skills. B.S. degree in agriculture with 2 years in California citrus experience OR 5 years California citrus industry sales experience.
 
Language Skills: Ability to speak, read and write English fluently.  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate in Spanish is helpful, but not required.
 
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentage.
 
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized solutions. 
 
Other Qualifications: Proficient in the use of fax machines, computer printers, and copying machines. Accurately type 25-30 words a minute. Must have good organizational skills. Ability to establish and organize filing systems.  The ability to prioritize tasks as work load dictates. Must be a team player with the ability to work well and communicate effectively with fellow employees and management.  Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
 
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and speak and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
 
Work Environment: The noise level in the office work environment is usually moderate.
