JOB FILLED - Agriculture Industry Manager

Job Description: 

The Agriculture Industry Manager will be responsible for solicitation of donations within the agriculture industry and donor maintenance. Donors within this industry include, but are not limited to produce, meat, seafood, poultry, dairy items such as eggs, cheese, milk, and grains such as rice and wheat.

The Agriculture Industry Manager is to source as much of these types of items as possible from our service area; brokers, growers, and processors so that the Food Bank does not have to allocate money to acquire these items. This position will also support the Food Bank where needed.

Requirements: 

Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Food Industry, Business Management, Sales or minimum of 10 years' experience in field. A minimum of 10 years' experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; Salesforce preferred.

Skills: 
  • Demonstrated the ability to establish, maintain and strengthen relationships in the agriculture industry.
  • Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge about the most common varieties of produce items, being able to determine the quality, common issues, and different ways the varieties can be utilized.
  • Flexibility and experience in working with several different internal departments.
  • Demonstrated ability to be creative and self-driven.
  • Demonstrate ability to teach large groups of individuals about produce best handling practices for receiving, warehousing, and distributing produce.
  • Experienced in working with retailers, wholesaler, packers, shippers, and brokers.
  • The ability to organize and prioritize your activities effectively.
  • The ability to work in an ever-changing environment.
  • A proven manager that promotes teamwork, creativity, and open communication.
  • Ability and willingness to participate in events outside the workday schedule.
  • Ability to travel as necessary.
