Job Description:
The primary function of this position is to provide excellent customer service on the showroom floor and at the register, with a focus on answering irrigation related customer questions and assisting customers’ irrigation needs. Assist customers with all questions and needs in a timely and thorough manner, and provide an A+ customer experience, always striving to exceed customer’s expectations. Actively work the irrigation aisles on the showroom floor to maintain a high level of merchandising, cleanliness, maintain inventory levels through restocking, and maintain up to date pricing and displays.
Compensation/Salary:
$16/ hour
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalency
- Three-five years retail/customer service experience
- Three-five years’ experience in the field of irrigation
- Intermediate to advanced understanding of irrigation related products
- Experience or exposure in the fields of agricultural sales, purchasing, light manufacturing or citrus production and processing
- Must have excellent customer service skills
- Effective time management skills
- Must be fast paced, highly energetic, a self- starter and possess a positive attitude
- Must be willing and able to lift up to 60 lbs. and handle bulky items. Occasionally, lift items up to 80 lbs.
- Bilingual ability (English/Spanish) desirable
- Proof of American citizenship and/or legal US work status
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Greets customers and offers assistance as needed
- Offers specialized assistance to customers regarding irrigation product assortment and irrigation needs
- Customer service including discussing customer’s needs, making suggestions and product recommendations, and assisting customers in finding the correct / needed irrigation products
- Reaches out to customers shopping the irrigation aisles of the showroom to ask if assistance can be provided, and extending the offer of product support
- Provides A+ customer service to all customers who make contact
- Conducts sales transactions involving cash and charge sales
- Creates properly documented, accurate invoices through the use of our point of sale terminal.
- Stocks shelves within the irrigation section of the showroom as assigned through the use of aisle assignments
- Stocks additional showroom areas as needed
- Pulls inventory from back stock in the warehouse to maintain stock in the showroom
- Maintains the integrity, merchandising, and cleanliness of assigned irrigation aisles in the showroom
- Regularly reviews the irrigation product assortment available to customers on the showroom floor and remerchandises as needed
- Regularly reviews the showroom’s irrigation product assortment and makes product assortment / skew recommendations to the Ops Center Supervisor and Irrigation Buyer to better meet customer’s needs
- Works in conjunction with the Lead Sales Associate, Supervisor, and Irrigation Buyer to ensure proper reordering / restocking of inventory
- Alerts the Lead Sales Associate, Supervisor, and Irrigation Buyer when irrigation products are out of stock and require reorder
- Updates out of stock tags on the showroom floor including dates alerting customers of in-stock timeframes for irrigation products
- Identifies and reports inventory discrepancies through noted processes, does not make arbitrary adjustments without Manager’s approval
- Maintains constant communication with project coordinator and salesman regarding customer visits to the showroom including those pertaining to new sales opportunities or ongoing projects
- Participates in cycle count processes and physical inventories as needed
- Maintains a neat, organized and safe work place at all times
- Ability to be self-motivated, initiator and be part of a team who wants to succeed
