JOB FILLED - Controller

Job Description: 

We are a rapidly growing wholesale produce company and are seeking an experienced controller to oversee and manage Accounting, Bookkeeping, AP, AR, as well as, regulatory issues. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of a similar background, preferably with an organization within the produce industry.

We are looking for a Financial Controller who can update our company financial policies and develop new financial policies to help meet or exceed corporate goals. The successful candidate will collaborate with the executive team to determine more effective ways to handle corporate funding, tax issues, and growth financing. If you have a strong background in corporate financial management and a strong desire to become a part of a dynamic team, you may be the perfect person to fill this position.

Requirements: 
  • 5 + years of experience
  • Accounting / Finance Degree
  • CPA is a plus
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Manage all aspects of the accounting operation, overseeing all transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll, and financial reporting.
  • Assist with developing and maintaining all necessary accounting policies and systems, including general ledger and financial reporting, ensuring that records are maintained properly.
  • Manage cash flow and treasury functions.
  • Payroll processing.
  • Coordinate, prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages including analyzing financial results with respect to profits, trends, and costs.
  • Coordinate and/or prepare tax schedules, returns, and information.
  • Manage all tax planning and compliance with all required federal, state, local, payroll, property and other applicable taxes.
  • Assist with building an accounting department as the company grows.
  • Develop and document policies and procedures for key accounting, tax, and other matters.
  • Approve Payments for overseas and domestic accounts.
  • Human Resource experience is preferred with experience and knowledge in the following areas; Insurance, Benefits, Fleet Management, Workman Compensation, and Liability Insurance.
