The Food Safety Manager shall be responsible for all aspects of food safety standards including, HACCP, SQF and GFSI, SOP’s and food safety training programs.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Develop and provide training for food safety
  • Develop and maintain documentation such as SOP’s, as well as maintenance of manuals, policies and procedures as relate to any food safety concerns
  • Conduct ranch operation audits as well as manage third party audits
  • Update existing food safety procedures and documentation to keep up with changing requirements
  • Work closely with Operations Manager and/or General Manager on any food safety or quality assurance issues
  • Oversee proper maintenance and sanitation of all farming operations to comply with food safety requirements
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure food safety program management, inspection coordination and testing requirements are adhered to
  • Serve as a guide for field tours when requested
  • Oversee data collection and updates

Qualifications: 
  • A minimum of 7 years of food safety experience, with management level experience and comprehensive knowledge of HACCP, FSMA, GAP, GMP, USDA, FDA, SQL, GFSI, NFS, BRC AND Primus
  • A minimum of 5 years of agricultural field experience, directly involved in field audits and policy implementation
  • Must maintain a current valid California driver’s license
  • Ability to keep projects on schedule and to coordinate work flow effectively throughout the food safety department
  • Able to supervise and manage independently
  • Must be flexible with work hours and days
