JOB FILLED - Bilingual Agricultural Safety Educator

Job Description: 

Agricultural Safety Educator will be responsible for implementing agricultural safety training activities and seminars by performing the following duties fluently in English and in Spanish.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Coordinates schedule, itinerary, materials and agenda for trainings.
  • Confirms training schedules with MVP Manager and growers.
  • Performs bilingual agricultural safety trainings in large and small groups.
  • Organizes and maintains proper paperwork on-site and in office.
  • Takes necessary continuing education and certification courses.
  • Organizes and maintains training equipment and supplies.
  • Assists in development and evaluation of training programs.
  • Maintains grower/worker database referring training programs.
  • Assists in developing additional innovative safety training materials in conjunction with Manager.
  • Performs marketing and outreach events for company.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education: 
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university; and/or three to five years related training/education experience, including training, program monitoring, and compliance; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Skills: 
  • Familiarity with farm equipment and machinery
  • Ability and willingness to learn and understand agricultural safety regulations
  • Must have the ability to present bilingual training in large and small group settings
  • Ability to present trainings and organize related documents
  • Ability to complete personal certification/training programs and pass tests in English

Language Ability:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Computer Skills:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word; Microsoft Excel; Microsoft PowerPoint; Microsoft Outlook; Internet Explorer and AgVance software
  • Education/Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university; and/or three to five years related training/education experience, including training, program monitoring, and compliance; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Certificates and Licenses:

  • Valid California driver's license
  • Holds, or has ability to obtain through training, Forklift Trainer certification
  • Holds, or has ability to obtain through training, First Aid/CPR Trainer certifications
  • Holds, or has ability to obtain through training, Pesticide Safety Trainer Certificate
