Job Filled Sales Manager

Job Description: 

The Sales Manager is responsible for managing the sales, customer service, and new product development programs for the company.  You will be responsible for maintaining the company’s sales growth through growing customer relationships, building the customer base, and developing new product offerings. The Sales Manager is focused on sustaining and maximizing long-term profits.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Manage the Sales and Customer Service teams to meet sales goals.
  • Establish sales objectives by forecasting and projecting expected sales volume for existing and new products.
  • Maintain sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, weather-related impacts, and competitors.
  • Monitor/Identify any/all loss of business, determine root cause and setup recovery plans.
  • Develop and maintain top 10 customer list by commodity to be used in times of product shortages/quality/weather-related events.
  • Recommend changes in selling prices to EVP by monitoring costs, competition, and supply and demand.
  • Responsible for managing compliance of all sales contracts/programs.  This includes but not limited to monitoring/management of trigger clauses.
  • Develop lifecycle plan for current and new products and/or variety offerings which maximizes the long-term success and profitability of the Company.
  • Develop a robust stream of new items, which can replace products and/or varieties entering end of life phase.  Products recommended for development must have consumer rationale which meet/exceed profitability hurdles.
  • Coordinate with Production Operations to facilitate trials and tests of new products to ensure they meet established guidelines for food safety and quality.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, participating in professional societies.
  • Maintain Sales team results by serving as focal point to counsel and discipline employees; plan, monitor, and appraise job results.
  • Contributes to team effort to accomplish effective and timely results.
  • Provide Sales input for long-term strategic planning.
  • Manages and coordinates projects as directed by the EVP.
Education: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, or marketing or equivalent experience.
Skills: 
  • Strong Interpersonal skills – Interaction and collaboration is a large part of this management position to ensure high quality, cost/production efficient, order fulfillment.
  • Organizational and time management skills – The ability to manage several projects at once and to prioritize tasks.
  • Leadership skills – Ability to inspire and motivate a team of direct reports and personnel from other depts. to achieve new product goal and vision.
  • Decision-making skills – Balancing strengths and weaknesses of different options and deciding the best course of action.
  • Communication skills – Training and presentations will be a significant responsibility in this job.
  • Respect diversity and have respect for other cultures.
  • Skill to assimilate and work effectively within the Company culture.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish preferred.
  • Functional in Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Excellent writing and documenting skills.
Qualifications: 
  • 5+ years experience a senior level Sales-related position preferably in an agricultural or produce industry.
