JOB FILLED - Business Development Manager

Job Description: 

The Business Development Manager is responsible for developing the sales and business plan for all sales of conventional and organic Value Added/Fresh Cut Produce.

Requirements: 
  • Driving for long periods of time, walking long distances during customer visits or within airports, sitting for long periods, lifting either above the waist or below and maneuver baggage; walking on uneven surfaces, ramps and inclines.
  • Requires standing, sitting, talking, hearing, reaching to operate computer, telephone keyboard and mouse; sensation to operate a touchpad.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Drive profitable growth by maximizing price and volume across all markets. 
  • Work with company management to develop and implement strategies for securing new accounts and achieving sales goals.
  • Solidify and strengthen our relationships with existing customers by communicating via phone, and in person, to ensure customer satisfaction is maintained.
  • Visit companies that buy our products and educate them on fruit and vegetable quality, our quality assurance procedures and our total coverage network.
  • Support resolution any customer service issues, including following up on collections of accounts as needed. 
  • Develop a strong understanding of the local and national regional Value Added/Fresh Cut Produce market and market potential, identify and pursue new markets for the product.
  • Monitor competition to enhance sales effort focus by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, delivery schedules, shipping fees, merchandising, sales volume, etc.
  • Assist in our marketing and branding strategy to align with potential markets.
  • Identify and monitor competitors, market conditions and product development opportunities.
  • Create, revise, and communicate trending forecasts.
  • Develop sales, cost budgets, and targets in alignment with the sales strategy.
  • Travel as necessary to serve the accounts as needed.
  • Perform after-hours service on account[s] as required (including weekends/nights).
Education: 
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or a combination of education and work experience equal to the degree.

  • Ability to work with interruptions and concentrate to resolve concerns.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Outlook, Word and Excel.
