We are looking for a qualified Purchasing Director to join our team. In Bronx, NY.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of related industry experience
- Minimum 4-7 years of experience in Procurement
- Strong organizational, analytical and negotiation skills
- Problem-solver who can multi-task and pay attention to detail
- Above-average math skills and be able to work independently, with little or no supervision
- Development of financial analysis skills
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Knowledge of Produce Pro (not required) and MS Office (MS Excel in particular)

Responsibilities & Duties:
- Ensure Company’s profitability through purchasing strategies that continuously improves direct and indirect costs of merchandise.
- Managing and mentoring the buying team
- Establishing and maintaining measurables performance metrics for all levels of procurement activities to include but not limited to supplier performance, supplier quality, internal order placement performance, buyer activities level, financial (A/P) performance, and product shortage elimination
- Negotiate and execute purchase orders or vendor contracts as needed to support the critical business needs including service vendors.
- Identify key cost drivers to determine improvement opportunities and maximize savings following supply chain methodologies
- Develop annual strategy and budgets for the department
- Oversees product coordination between sales department, production department, and purchasing related units.
- Responsible for monitoring inventory levels and keeping a safety stock
- Reviews market analysis to determine customer needs, prices, and new product opportunities.
- Researches and develops relationships with new and existing suppliers and growers while strategically develops and optimizes our supplier network world-wide.
- Working with operations / QC to ensure product quality and credits needed with vendors/growers.).
- Independently solve problems and make decisions for strategic execution and tactical issues within the relevant portfolio of projects and or processes.
- Provide day to day oversight with a ‘hands on’ execution role.
- Follows company’s policies on vendor compliance and assist Food Safety department throughout the process.
- Enforces Purchasing policies and develops new ones if needed
