The Director of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) is an experienced leader and a key member of our Finance team who partners effectively with stakeholders across all operational functions. This role influences decision-making, identifies priorities and manages and mentors finance team members directly and indirectly. The Director mentors senior analysts and cost accounting employees to provide timely, accurate and insightful financial analytics and modeling via strong partnering skills and a commercial perspective that optimizes investment and cost structure. This role will work closely with operations partners to develop strategies, drive efficiencies, measure results and identify opportunities to optimize cost effectiveness.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Direct the aggregation, organization and interpretation of financial and operational information to facilitate tactical and strategic decision making
  • Provide analytical and modeling support with a focus on operational areas cost and investment decisions
  • Partner and communicate effectively with operational areas to provide insightful commercial financial analytics to drive effectiveness and identify opportunities and risks
  • Supervise and support operational areas in developing accurate budgets, variance analysis and delivering on financial targets
  • Review and provide timely accurate financial reporting and management information to operational partners and oversee certain operational close functions and related analysis
  • Evaluate financial and strategic impact of new business opportunities and create analytics to review progress on new and existing initiatives
  • Lead complex special project and analysis across multiple functions
  • Provide proactive talent management and development
  • Assist with mergers, acquisitions, and special projects
  • Promote a positive Company image, understands and supports overall Department and Company priorities.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with team members, Supervisor and all stakeholders that reflect a reputation for professional communications, service, trust, integrity, reliability, attention to detail and urgency
  • Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality regarding critical and sensitive information
  • Manages a team within the Finance Department as determined by the Chief Financial Officer
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Education: 
  • Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance from four-year college or university and a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Finance or related field. CPA or CMA is a plus
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions of public or private entities
  • Must have strong finance, cost accounting systems and accounting knowledge
  • Previous exposure to farming operations or related industry is preferred

Qualifications: 
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the ability to communicate effectively in all circumstances, including over the phone, email and in person
  • Must have excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills to communicate, work with and respond to questions from employees, team members, supervisor, management and external stakeholders. Must be able to effectively present information
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have advanced Excel and financial modeling experience and be proficient in other Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word and PowerPoint) and Internet Software. JDE Edwards/E1 software knowledge is a plus
  • This position requires the ability to work well under pressure, be flexible and meet Company goals and deadlines
