Job Description: 

Pacific Coast Fruit Company is a local, family owned produce distributor that has proudly served our Pacific Northwest retail, wholesale and food service customers since 1977. We are now one of the largest independent produce distributors in the Northwest with distribution centers in Portland, Oregon and Seattle, Washington.
We’re jump-starting marketing within our company, investing for the first time in a mid-management marketing leadership position, focused on our customers both internally and externally – and very excited about it.

The Customer Experience Marketing Manager is responsible for planning, directing and developing all of the marketing, branding and content efforts that are tied to the customer from start to launch to the engagement beyond that keeps our customers loyal for life.
These activities should support the company’s strategic plan and includes (but is not limited to) all content that is customer-facing: social, digital, online, ordering process, new product launches, sales tools, internal communications, public/event relations and publicity. They will involve directing and collaborating with outside agencies, consultants and internal “creative” staff members to achieve the desired excellence.

In this role, you will mentor, lead and be responsible for a direct report, the Customer Experience Specialist. Their primary role is execution excellence of assigned marketing tactics.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Build energetic, positive, collaborative relationships with all stakeholders to optimize opportunities and ensure a great customer experience. These stakeholders are primarily: sales, IT, purchasing, customer service, operations and HR.
  • Be responsible for all written, verbal and visual communications including content creation and execution (video, photography, sales tools, newsletters, etc.).
  • Develop and own key relationships with outside companies, our produce industry and local community.
  • Develop and manage social media campaigns, website, database, and others marketing tools. Create timely content and distribution of materials, signage, programs and collateral.
  • Monitor produce and menu trends and add insights and ideas to fuel our work and make our messages work harder for us.
  • Be responsible for achieving goals and initiatives as directed by Senior Leadership and the company strategic plan.
  • Direct and communicate all marketing efforts across the company.
Education: 
  • BS/BA in Business Analytics, Operations, Administration, Communication and/or General Marketing.
  • Master’s degree a plus!
  • 8-10 years of progressive marketing experience in food & beverage whether produce, grocery, foodservice, restaurant and/or food manufacturing Industry.
Skills: 
  • Working knowledge of marketing and sales aspects including planning, business development, product development, market research, promotions, customer relationship management, contact center and public relations.
  • Extensive experience in project management tied to marketing/sales initiatives, leading outside agencies, internal team members and creative teams.
  • Experience and knowledge of produce/retail industry specific information such as growers, harvests, produce value-added cuts and grab-&-go.
  • Knowledge of marketing, sales and distribution of perishable foods, produce harvests and growing seasons.
  • Both foodservice and retail grocery go-to-market paths to purchase
  • Planning, developing and communication with company executives.
