The Processing Tomato Advisory Board (PTAB) is a quasi-governmental organization whose primary function is managing processing tomato inspection in California. All California processing tomatoes are inspected by PTAB staff at various inspection stations throughout the state. Last year we celebrated our 75th anniversary.
In 2015, California growers produced a record 14.3 million tons of processing tomatoes meaning almost 100% of the domestic production and about 40% of the world’s production originates from California. See our website at www.ptab.org for more details.
