Lead the next phase of growth for a global produce organization and step into a role with significant scope, visibility, and long-term upside.
Joe Produce Search has been retained by United Exports to identify its next Sales Director, Americas.
United Exports is a well-established global produce business with international reach and a strong platform for growth. As the Americas business continues to expand, the company is seeking a senior sales leader to help shape commercial strategy, strengthen customer relationships, and support the next phase of growth.
This is a build-and-lead opportunity for a leader who can open doors, build trust with major customers, and thrive in a fast-moving, data-driven, globally connected environment. The right leader will help shape the commercial direction of the Americas business, deepen retail relationships, strengthen wholesale and distributor channels, and help lead a growing sales organization. This is a key executive-level role in one of the company’s most important growth regions.
The Opportunity
A high-impact leadership role within a growing international produce business.
The Sales Director, Americas will be responsible for bringing structure, focus, and momentum to the region’s commercial efforts. The role calls for a leader who can think strategically while remaining close enough to the business to drive execution — someone who can open doors, build trust with major customers, guide a team, and help create the framework for long-term success.
The environment is fast-moving, collaborative, and globally connected. The right candidate will be comfortable operating across teams, markets, and time zones in a business that values data, adaptability, and follow-through.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Lead the commercial strategy for the Americas business in alignment with broader global sales objectives
- Develop and execute a clear retail strategy across North America
- Deepen and expand relationships with key national retail customers and other major market players
- Strengthen wholesale and distributor pathways to support volume movement, quality variation, and market agility
- Lead, structure, and grow a developing sales organization
- Bring strategic direction to a business that requires both near-term results and longer-term build-out
- Partner closely with senior leadership across sales, operations, growth, and executive teams
- Use data, forecasting, analytics, and ERP-driven processes to support sound commercial decision-making
- Build systems, priorities, and accountability across the Americas sales function
- Travel domestically and internationally to meet customers, visit growers, attend company meetings, and participate in key industry events
What Makes This Role Unique
- Direct influence on one of the company’s most important growth regions
- A genuine opportunity to shape strategy, not simply inherit an existing sales plan
- Broad exposure to an international organization with global leadership collaboration
- The chance to build structure and commercial momentum in a business that is scaling
- Meaningful visibility, strong autonomy, and long-term growth potential
- The opportunity to make a visible impact in a respected global produce company
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking a senior produce sales leader who brings both commercial credibility and leadership depth, ideally with:
- Senior-level produce sales leadership experience in a regional or executive commercial role
- Strong national retail relationships and experience negotiating with high-level decision-makers
- Solid understanding of wholesale and distributor channels
- Proven success in offshore or imported fruit
- Experience in blueberries preferred; extensive experience in adjacent offshore fruit categories will be considered
- The ability to build strategy, not just manage an existing book of business
- Experience leading teams, creating structure, and helping scale a sales organization
- Strong commercial judgment, communication skills, and executive presence
- High comfort level with data, reporting, analysis, and technology-enabled business processes
- ERP familiarity; Netsuite exposure is a plus
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving, globally connected environment
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed for the role
- Equally important is fit. This organization will value someone who is:
- Strategic, but practical
- Relationship-driven and commercially sharp
- Comfortable leading in a business that is scaling and evolving
- Adaptable, accountable, and able to bring structure to complexity
- Confident working across teams, regions, and time zones
Compensation & Structure
- Executive-level compensation aligned with experience and scope
- Broad leadership exposure within a global organization
- East Coast location preferred, though flexibility exists for the right person
Why This Role Stands Out
This is a rare opportunity to step into a highly visible leadership role at an important point in the company’s growth. For the right executive, it offers the chance to shape strategy, expand key relationships, build structure, and leave a meaningful mark on the future of the Americas business.
