We are currently seeking a dynamic Production Lead to join our team in Sunrise, Florida.
Position Summary
The Production Lead is responsible for the strategic planning and day-to-day oversight of all production activities. Your goal is to ensure that our packing operations are efficient, punctual, and cost-effective. You will be expected to evaluate critical performance data—including throughput, downtime, shrink, and unit costs—to drive results. This role is vital in meeting production targets while upholding our strict standards for operational safety and HACCP compliance.

Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Implementation
- Direct daily production schedules and manage labor hours/overtime.
- Partner with Repack Supervisors, the Warehouse Foreman, and Commodity Managers to sync production outputs with market demand.
- Track and analyze KPIs (yields, units per minute, etc.) to optimize workflow.
- Manage the full scope of packing operations with a focus on cost-control and resource management.
- Identify and execute cost-saving initiatives by staying current on material and labor expenses.
Leadership & Team Development
- Mentor, supervise, and review the performance of Repack Supervisors, data entry staff, and general production teams.
- Promote a workplace culture centered on accountability, mutual respect, and safety.
Process Optimization
- Ensure all packaging machinery is maintained and functioning at peak capacity.
- Master the technical capabilities of our equipment to maximize throughput.
- Design and refine packing workflows to enhance overall productivity.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Guarantee that all production activities align with our food safety protocols (HACCP, GMPs, and inventory rotation).
- Work alongside the compliance department to manage audits and implement corrective measures when necessary.
- Oversee the maintenance of precise production logs and documentation.
Minimum Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Agriculture, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in production or operations, preferably in food packaging, perishable goods, or agricultural facilities.
- Proven Track Record: Experience leading diverse teams in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
- Expertise: Deep understanding of inventory control and production scheduling.
Skills & Attributes
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills; bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly preferred.
- Collaboration: Ability to work cross-functionally with Sourcing, QC, and Operations.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret data to improve yield and reduce costs.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with packaging automation and equipment operations.
Technology & Physical Requirements
- Software: Proficient in MS Office (Excel/Outlook) and ERP systems; Famous Software experience is a plus.
- Schedule: Flexibility to work extended hours and alternating weekends.
- Physical: Ability to lift 15 lbs and work at a computer station (sitting or standing) for long durations.
- Legal: Must be authorized to work in the United States.
