We specialize in providing high-quality fresh citrus to the retail and foodservice markets throughout North America, as well as other countries around the globe, and strive to be the “go-to company” in the fresh citrus category 365 days a year.

We have an immediate opening for a Quality Control and Packing Supervisor to join us at our corporate headquarters in the Central Valley, CA. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager.

POSITION SUMMARY

The essential function of this position is to help establish the “Best Citrus Sales and Marketing Company” in the industry through our social responsibility example and by ensuring the highest quality of our product. This role is an integral part of a successful Quality Control team and ensures operational excellence by supporting quality personnel, customers, and other business partners.

REQUIREMENTS

  • MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH DOMESTIC CITRUS.
  • Agree with and stand by the Company Mission Statement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal/teamwork skills.
  • Superior organization, planning, multitasking, and prioritizing skills.
  • Positive, outgoing personality with the ability to easily form relationships with business partners, packers, and shippers.
  • High attention to detail and solid computer knowledge (Microsoft Office).
  • Famous Software knowledge is required.
  • Working knowledge of Good Delivery and USDA guidelines for fresh produce.
  • Ability to work long or flexible hours and work independently.
  • Spanish bilingual is preferred.
  • Current driver’s license with a good driving record and reliable transportation.
  • Willingness to travel daily within the Central Valley.
  • A team-driven mindset; we expect cheerful cooperation to help meet various needs across departments as they arise.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

General QC Management

  • Manage all outgoing orders according to company/industry standards and specific customer needs.
  • Utilize the FIFO method, while maintaining the judgment to determine when to divert from this method.
  • Work closely with packing houses/facilities to ensure quality requirements are understood and met.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Team to ensure all customer requirements are met; communicate regarding new same-day orders.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of USDA standards.
  • Develop, document, and maintain product specifications (based on USDA and customer requirements) for all produce, specifically citrus commodities.

Management of Aged Inventory

  • Conduct product inspections on inbound and on-hand inventories and report findings to the Sales Team.
  • Communicate and teach SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
  • Manage a team of QC specialists across various facilities.
  • Perform related duties as needed by management.

Grower Product Management

  • Oversee Quality Management of all products received for packing, storage, and shipping.
  • Monitor quality of incoming product from the field and report findings to field staff.
  • Determine the grade of products being packed daily.
  • Create run plans to guide the warehouse on packing priorities.
  • Monitor quality of fruit being packed and repacked daily.
  • Coordinate with field and sales departments to understand packing and inventory management needs.
  • Report all necessary information to Sales and Grower Accounting.

Import / Purchased Product Management

  • Monitor quality of incoming product from outside locations to ensure it meets or exceeds specifications.
  • Determine if product can be shipped as-is, needs to be repacked, or must be rejected.
