We have an immediate opening for a Quality Control and Packing Supervisor to join us in our corporate headquarters in the Central Valley, CA.

The essential function of this position is to help accomplish the “Best Citrus Sales and Marketing Company” in the industry perception by our social responsibility example and to ensure the quality of our product. This position is an integral part of a successful Quality Control team and ensures operational excellence by supporting not only the quality personnel, but our customers and other business partners.

Requirements:

  • Be able to easily form relationships with business partners, packers, and shippers

  • Solid computer knowledge: Microsoft office programs

  • Famous Software knowledge

  • Working knowledge of good delivery and USDA guidelines for fresh produce

  • Ability to work long or flexible hours

  • Ability to work independently

  • Spanish bilingual is preferred

  • Current driver’s license with good driving record and reliable transportation

  • Willing to travel daily in the Central Valley

Responsibilities & Duties:

General QC Management

  • Management of all outgoing orders according to company / industry standards and specific customer needs

  • Using FIFO method, but being capable of determining when we need to divert from this method

  • Working closely with packing houses/facilities to ensure quality requirements are understood and met

  • Work Closely with Sales Team to ensure that all customer requirements are understood and met

  • Communicate with sales staff regarding new orders that come in same day

  • Knowledge of USDA standards

  • Develop, document, and maintain product specifications (based on USDA and customer requirements) for quality and condition for all produce commodities, but specifically citrus commodities

Management of Aged Inventory
  • Conduct product inspections on inbound and on-hand inventories and report to sales team

  • Communicate and Teach SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures)

  • Manage a team of QC specialists at various facilities

  • Perform related duties as needed by management

Grower Product Management
  • Quality Management of all products received to pack/store and ship.

  • Monitor quality of incoming product from the field and report findings to field staff

  • Determine grade of what is being packed daily

  • Create run plan that guides warehouse on what needs to be packed

  • Monitor quality of fruit being packed and repacked daily

  • Communicate closely with field and sales departments to understand packing and inventory management needs

  • Report all necessary information to sales and grower accounting

Import/Purchased Product Management
  • Monitor quality of incoming product from outside locations to ensure product quality meets or exceeds specifications.

  • Determine if product can be shipped as-is, needs to be repacked first, or needs to be rejected.

  • This Position Reports directly to the Operations Manager

  • MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH DOMESTIC CITRUS
