Job description

Are you ready to grow more than just crops? This is a rare opportunity to join a scaling multi-crop operation in Eastern North Carolina at a pivotal moment. We aren’t just looking for a manager; we are looking for a future partner in our success.

Why You’ll Love Working With Us

  • A Legacy Transition: You’ll have the unique chance to learn the "DNA" of our land from our senior farm lead, ensuring you have the mentorship needed to succeed before taking the full reins.

  • Scale and Impact: We are actively expanding our acreage and diversifying our crops (including sweet potatoes, broccoli, cabbage, and peppers). You won’t just be maintaining—you’ll be building.

  • Autonomy & Trust: We value self-motivated leaders. You’ll have the independence to make critical field decisions and the support of a management team that invests in modern equipment and efficient workflows.

  • Comprehensive Stability: With a highly competitive salary, performance bonuses, and a full benefits package—including housing and a company vehicle—we ensure you and your family are taken care of so you can focus on the harvest.

The Role: Chief Farming Manager

As our Chief Farming Manager, you will be the heartbeat of our daily operations. You will oversee the lifecycle of our crops from seed to harvest, ensuring that our reputation for quality and safety is maintained as we scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily Field Leadership: Oversee planting, cultivation, irrigation, and harvesting. You’ll be the boots on the ground monitoring soil health, pest pressure, and moisture levels.

  • Workforce Management: Lead and train our seasonal crews. You will handle labor planning, coordinate with the NC Growers/Vegetable Association, and manage H-2A recruitment to ensure a productive and safe work environment.

  • Strategic Growth: Collaborate with management on crop planning and acreage allocation. You will identify opportunities to improve yields, optimize budgets, and streamline workflows.

  • Compliance Excellence: Maintain full Food Safety Compliance (including GLOBALG.A.P. standards) and ensure all chemical, labor, and environmental regulations are strictly followed.

What We’re Looking For

  • Expertise: Deep knowledge of multi-crop production and a passion for soil health and crop vitality.

  • Leadership: A confident communicator who can lead diverse crews and work respectfully alongside our senior farm lead during the transition.

  • Operational Grit: Someone who thrives on independent decision-making and is organized enough to maintain meticulous field and spray logs.

  • Qualifications: A valid driver’s license is required. An agricultural degree, H-2A experience, and bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are highly preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $65,000 – $110,000+ (Commensurate with experience)

  • Performance Bonuses: Rewarding your impact on our yields and efficiency.

  • Relocation & Tools: Housing or a housing stipend, a company vehicle (or allowance), a phone reimbursement, and a boot/clothing allowance.

  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive health insurance and Paid Time Off (PTO).

Ready to lead our fields?

If you are a self-starter with a vision for modern agriculture, we want to hear from you.
