The tape facilitates ease of sowing, efficient nursery operations and automated transplanting. With one of the most progressive and innovative automated transplanters on the market, PlantTape now has over 100 machines operating globally.
The Role:
We are seeking an employee to manage and efficiently run the PlantTape transplanter equipment department, including the parts and service. This employee will manage equipment improvement projects while supporting and maintaining the customer fleet of transplanters out globally.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Comprehensive knowledge of hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems to perform diagnoses on transplanter equipment.
- Manage PlantTape transplanter and parts improvement projects, collaborating with external suppliers as well as the engineering and sales departments to move these projects to completion in a timely manner.
- Prioritize different equipment projects based on timeline and need from sales department.
- Field time and assessment of customer transplanter fleet to identify current and potential problems to improve.
- Ensure that proper testing of all parts and transplanter improvements are performed. Once these upgrades are successfully tested, provide the proper sales and operations information.
- Maintain and document inventory of transplanter equipment including location and configuration of customer transplanter equipment.
- Supervise and provide direction to other individuals in the equipment department.
- Address and document all troubleshooting events to ensure they are fixed as soon as possible.
- Manage parts room and shop to ensure that all parts and inventory procedures are followed, orders are completed in a timely manner and organization and cleanliness is maintained.
- Lead weekly equipment meeting
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of related experience
- Must have basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills
- Must have strong communication and organizational skills and have great attention to detail
- Self-motivated, goal driven with a can-do attitudePromotes a positive Company image, and supports PlantTape efforts
- Travel and afterhours work required
- A valid driver’s license is required
- Ability to travel internationally (passport required)

- This employee works in indoor as well as outdoor environment subject to moving mechanical partsThis employee may be required to lift up to 75 lbs
